Purchased for my 7th grader (5eme), although Tann's rucksacks are known to be for 4th and 5th graders(CM1 and CM2); this one is large enough to accommodate and nicely arrange school supplies, notebooks and books. It is so much better than a backpack: 1) the backpack was too heavy on my child's back 2) everything ends up thrown inside the backpack; by Friday, it was a trash bin. I tried a roller bag too, and since the middle school (collège) has stairs, this was too heavy as well. The Tanns brand is quality, and the thick straps on the back, as well as the compartments, keep the weight distribution even and plenty of back support so that your child's posture and back remain upright and most importantly, safe from injury. A beautiful bag, and practical too!

It's the beautiful classical Tann's look, but I wish they still had the original genuine leather option... Also, I expected they would provide a replacement buckle with the school bag in case one gets damaged or lost (they used to do that, at least I got one with my previous purchase of a Tann's schoolbag).
