Springcourt, and the tennis shoe is born
Invented in 1936, the Springcourt trainer quickly became the star of the tennis courts. A little shoe in cotton fabric and vulcanised rubber sole, a few years later they would be remade with a detachable sole perfect for ventilation and their famous four holes. We had to wait until the 1960s for the Springcourt shoe to find a larger audience. Worn by John Lennon and Serge Gainsbourg, they became in 1968 the shoe of revolution and change.
